Ujwal Sutaria
Founder & Managing Director
Ujwal is the Founder and Managing Director of TDV Partners. He is a 2 X founder turned investor. He has lead investments in more than two dozen startups now which can be viewed in the portfolio section.
In his last role as an Associate Director at Innoven Capital, Ujwal was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing venture deals in India. His portfolio companies included likes of Swiggy($10B+), Eruditus($3B+), Licious($1B+), Blackbuck($1B+), Dealshare($1B+), Epigamia, Freshmenu, Treebo, Nestaway and more) which are across various sectors and stages.
Before InnoVen, Ujwal was a 2X Entrepreneur having operating experience in online marketplace and health tech ventures. He started Athletto, a platform to help people search & book sports & fitness places online and FruitOn, a cold pressed juice delivery service.
Ujwal is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and Bachelor’s in Technology from National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (NIT Nagpur). He is a fitness enthusiast who likes doing yoga and surya namaskar. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, badminton, doing landscape photography and reading startup blogs.

FAQ
How much time commitment is needed?
16-20 hours overall. 4-5 hours/weekend. There will be 1.5 - 2.5 hr live sessions on Sat & Sun each during the 4 weekend program. You are expected to attend them and stay back for follow on discussions if you like.
Is this a remote program? Any I attend from anywhere across the globe?
Yes, 100% remote. Though at some point of time, we would like to have events like dinners, small gatherings, or retreats, but the core program will always remain a remote one.
Who should apply?
As a TDV Angel Participant, you should ideally be:
1) An individual looking to learn the tricks of angel investment and find the right deals for starting your angel investment journey.
2) A current or past founder or a senior executive, with a deep understanding of a market and looking to start angel investing.
3) An angel investor looking to find the right deals and accelerate their investments.
4) A young graduate looking to learn the startup investing basics and get some taste of how a VC role could be
What is the goal of TDV Angel Investing Program?
Similar to starting a company, the beginning of journey as an angel investor comes with risks and uncertainies. TDV's goal is to be your partner in your angel investment journey by helping you understand
1) How much capital should I allocate?
2) What is the correct valuation, & what should a term sheet cover?
3) How do I get access to opportunities in an industry of my interest?
4) How should I evaluate a startup?
5) How should I assess the team’s expertise to solve a particular problem? 6) How much importance does traction have in the startup's growth at present? 7) And much more! Our goal is to build an amazing network propelled by a peer based learning environment around cohorts of established founders, investors, and people who have the fire within them; helping them accelerate their journeys to becoming world-class angel investors.
How long will I have access to the community?
After the end of 4-week program, you will get access to the community, cohort and all the resources and network for a period of one year.
What happens after the first year of membership?
After one year of membership, your membership shall be extended for another year if you have made an investment of $10,000 during the year. Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to renew your membership for a nominal amount of Rs 16,999. If you choose not to renew your membership, you will lose access to all the resources shared, networks, and content.
What happens if I miss attending one class?
It is recommended to attend all the classes live to get the most out of this course. However, in case if you miss a class then you will get access to the recording of that session.
